Sparks Middle School






Joanna Project
A local initiative started at SCF in 2015. On the second Sunday every month, a group rides their bikes along the Truckee River to hand out Joanna packets, pray, and build relationships with men and women experiencing homelessness.



English Classes @ SCF
In partnership with the Northern Nevada Literacy Council, SCF hosts ESL classes from 9:30-11:30 am every
Tuesday and Wednesday morning.


Conversation Corner @ SCF
Every Friday morning from 9–10 am, a group of SCF volunteers practice conversational English with neighbors who are trying to learn English.





Citizenship Classes @ SCF
In partnership with the Northern Nevada Literacy Council, SCF hosts Citizenship Classes to help eligible individuals prepare for the citizenship application process. The classes are on Saturday mornings 9 am–noon and are offered in 6-week sessions.



Refugee Welcome Team


In partnership with the Northern Nevada International
Center, SCF supports and mentors refugee families who have been resettled in our area.


Car Clinic @ SCF
This is a ministry that performs oil changes and other car repairs for those in our church and community who are in need of affordable car repair and maintenance. Materials and parts are purchased by the vehicle owner and the labor is donated by volunteers. The clinic is open on the 3rd Saturday every other month (6 times a year).


Honey-Do Express
This is a ministry that performs simple home repairs for the elderly, disabled and single moms within our church and community. The ministry meats from 8 am-noon on the third Saturday of every month (except December).

Working with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada, we normally provide emergency, non-perishable food for around 100 families every Wednesday morning, from 10 to 11:45 am.
