Twice each year we offer a fun, comprehensive class focusing on how to faithfully manage the resources that God has given each of us-- Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. In 9 weeks, you will learn about everything from budgeting, insurance, retirement and family communication to the spiritual aspects of handling money well and teaching our kids about healthy money habits.

Financial Peace University will begin a new session starting Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 7 pm.

FREE previews of the program are shown after both Sunday services March 12, 2017 plan to stop in:

  • get a taste of the classes,
  • have all your questions answered, and
  • meet the class leaders.

Counseling

We offer one-on-one financial counseling for individuals/families to provide help to more clearly see your current financial condition. Our counselor will review your income, spending habits, future goals and offer suggestions to help you reach those goals. If this is something you'd like to learn more about, please contact the church office during normal business hours: 775-331-2303

Food Pantry

SCF partners with the Northern Nevada Food Bank to offer food to our neighbors who are in need. Our Food Pantry is open to our congregation and anyone who lives in the nearby zip code areas of 89431, 89434 and 89436. You will need to bring a picture ID to receive food.  Our Food Pantry is open on Wednesday mornings from 10 am - 12 noon.

Benevolence

The Benevolence Fund is funded by special donations. It is available to active members of our congregation who have short-term financial difficulties (health, accident, job loss, etc). We can help with housing and utilities only, assisting with partial payments for amounts that are overdue. If you feel you may qualify for assistance, please visit the church office during normal business hours to complete a Benevolence Application for consideration.

Volunteer Opportunities

If you have a heart for those struggling with their finances, you may be interested in serving as a volunteer in this ministry.  For more information about volunteer opportunities, please contact the church office during normal business hours: 775.331.2303
